Artist's statement (2003):
These new prints are a continuation of my interest in the extreme differences as well as the growing similarities among basic, primary forms in science and nature. The distinctions between the cosmological and the microscopic are very apparent, yet both seem to operate, generally, with analogous constructs.

In an atmosphere of delicate balance and subtle maneuvering, the conflicting elements confront us - and we them - with results that are often quite profound. I have found this material fascinating to work with.

My playful combination of a variety of scientific related visual imagery is an attempt to understand the processes and circumstances of the wrold we live in.

Artist's statement (2001):
The interspersion of the seemingly disparate aspects of the micro and macro figure predominantly in this new work. My longtime fascination with the union of these two opposing elements and the idea of their simultaneous interaction has been the basic core of my interest and visual examination. The images are primarily derived from science and nature: physics, astronomy and chemistry. They are all intermixed--balancing, floating, and interacting with those basic forms in the everyday world. I see this activity as a metaphor perhaps for a gigantic juggling act.
